A.C. Hessenauer describes herself as a writer of horror, chaos, and madness. Her latest novel, Going to the Six, was published by Cemetery Dance Publications in June 2026 and was selected for the Cemetery Dance Trade Paperback Book Club alongside works by Jack Ketchum, Bentley Little, and Brian Hodge. Going to the Six will also be released as an audiobook by Simon and Schuster Audio's Simon Maverick imprint in fall 2026.
When she’s not participating in macabre ceremonies dedicated to the eldritch horrors out in the woods, A.C. enjoys spending time with her family. She loves a good horror movie, and of course, getting swallowed whole by a good book.
A.C. is represented by Mark Falkin of Falkin Literary.

Poisoned Folk Tales
Coming fall 2026
When once upon a time becomes a nightmare …
From forgotten forests and haunted halls to modern streets where old superstitions refuse to die, Poisoned Folk Tales gathers chilling stories inspired by folklore from around the world. Some inspired by legend, others spawned from the imaginations of some of horror’s finest, each twists familiar pathways, leading us towards something darker and stranger.
These tales span centuries and continents, because monsters evolve, curses endure, and every story has another twisted ending waiting to be told.
